DARRIO COLLABORATES WITH NEW YORK LABEL FOR NEW ‘BOOM’ SINGLE
Noted Jamaican Dancehall artiste Darrio has set his sights on the US market and has now collaborated with New York based label A-Team Music and Platinum Kids for his recently released single ‘Boom’. The artiste, who has been spending most of his time recording in and touring Europe over the last two years, sees this as the next phase to his music career.
“Jamaica and Europe knows Darrio and his hits and abilities, now it’s time for the US market to see more of what I’m capable of and how versatile I am. Jamaica will be proud of their son and the projects i’ll be dropping this year,” Darrio shared.
With hits under his belt including ‘School Fee’ and ‘Sidung’ featuring Konshens, Darrio believes that the Boom single is the right single to inspire his female fans to enjoy themselves on the dancefloor. The beat and the flow of the rhythm are what inspired the song itself,
“When I heard the beat, I just pictured the ladies dancing in a slow sexy way and not throwing themselves all over the place, but just being seductive, dancehall needs a bit of that kind of vibe right now,” Darrio added.
Darrio, who just a few days ago completed his first ever four city Australian tour is optimistic that his career is heading in the right direction on the international sphere and is looking forward to additional tours in the African and European market this year. His Australian club tour saw him performing in cities like Perth, Brisbane, Adelaide and Melbourn for a ten day stint on the continent at the end of April.
“Australians showed great appreciation for dancehall and Reggae music and gravitated to the good music that I brought to them. Even those who didn’t know Darrio came out to support the event and are now fans of mine so that in itself is a joy,” Shared Darrio
The artiste is now back in the island to promote the ‘Boom’ single which was already premiered and is receiving steady airplay thus far. Darrio’s New York team is also promoting the record in the US Market. The artiste is set to return to the US soon to shoot visuals for the project. He will also be performing in Hanover Germany this month before embarking on another European tour in the summer.
