Twani Price is on the verge of being one of Jamaica’s most
sought after stars.
The past student of Kingston College and the University of
Technology has had a command of his personal brand since
he started posting comedic skits online in high school.
The skits went viral and Twani became one of the most
popular social media comedic bloggers from Jamaica.
Twani however saw additional potential as an entertainer. He
eyed a musical career and started incorporating music in his
comedic skits on social media. He delved into recording actual
songs in early 2017 switching focus from his comedic
material.
He released his first official single called ‘Car Man’ and later
released ‘Plaintain’ featuring female artiste Atlanta.
Twani took some time to work on his craft and complete his
university education in 2018. He came back strong with
empowering single ‘Prenominal’ in 2019 and then released his
breakout single ‘Honda’ in early 2020. The transition from
comedian to artiste was easier for Twani who already had a large
fan base on social media but he did not receive the official music
industry nod until the Honda single became a bonified hit.
The ‘Honda’ single trended on platforms like YouTube and The
Magnum Charts and earned Twani a remix with Trending DJ
Skillibeng through Claims Records.
The remix went on to top major charts in the Caribbean including;
Entertainment Report Chart, Onstage TV QMIA and the Magnum
top 10 chart.
With the success of the Honda song and the new releases ‘Na Lef ‘
‘Ypree’ and ‘Long Distance’ gaining traction Twani is poised to
become one of Jamaica’s most sought after young stars.
